Steven A. Davis, MD, FAAD
A San Antonio native, Dr. Davis received a B.A. from Yale in 1969. He received his M.D. from the UT Southwestern Medical School in 1973 and completed a dermatology residency at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical School. He was certified by the American Board of Dermatology in 1977 and served on the academic faculty at UCSF until 1983, when he returned to San Antonio to go into private practice.
Dr. Davis is currently an Adjunct Professor in Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Texas Health and Science Center at San Antonio. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic surgery and a former president of the San Antonio Dermatologic Society. His syndicated daily radio feature, “Speaking of Health,” aired on the CBS Radio network for 34 years.
He is founder and director of the Dermatology and Laser Center of San Antonio™, which specializes in general and cosmetic dermatology and laser skin surgery. In addition, his research facility, the Dermatology Clinical Research Center of San Antonio (dermresearchsa.com) has been involved in more than 150 clinical trials for more than 60 companies. Among them are companies such as Abbott, Allergan, Amgen, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Genentech, GlaxoSmithKline, Leo Pharma, Lilly, Novartis, Pfizer and TEVA Pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Davis has been performing cutaneous laser surgery since 1992. Since then, he has taught laser surgery courses for HGM, Inc., manufacturer of the HGM Krypton Vascular and Pigmented Lesion Laser and Renaissance erbium:yag lasers, Luxar Corporation, maker of the NovaPulse CO2 Laser for facial skin resurfacing, and ESC Medical Systems, maker of the PhotoDerm VL/PL/HR intense pulsed light system.
Justin Bandino, MD, FAAD
Dr. Justin Bandino is a board-certified dermatologist and board-certified dermatopathologist offering expert, full-spectrum care in medical and surgical dermatology for patients of all ages and skin conditions. After completing undergraduate studies at the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Philosophy, Dr. Bandino matriculated to the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. This unique university augments the typical medical school curriculum with additional training in military and battlefield medicine and is co-located at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health. Quickly discovering a passion for dermatology, Dr. Bandino then completed a Transitional Internship at the San Antonio Military Medical Center before serving two obligatory years as a Flight Surgeon in the U.S. Air Force prior to Dermatology Residency where he served as chief resident.
After Dermatology Residency, also at the San Antonio Military Medical Center, the Air Force immediately stationed Dr. Bandino at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia where he served as the solo staff dermatologist for a large base hospital practicing clinical dermatology as well as responding to inpatient, ER, and NICU consults. Dr. Bandino then completed a Dermatopathology Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC with his mentor, Dr. Dirk Elston. With this additional subspecialty training, Dr. Bandino returned to the military Dermatology Residency program in San Antonio as faculty and has served as Academic Director, Lab Director, and Medical Director. He is currently the Program Director and Associate Professor.
Dr. Bandino has published numerous manuscripts in peer-reviewed national and international journals, he has authored book chapters, and he serves on multiple editorial boards. He routinely presents at regional, national, and international conferences, and serves on various committees in national organizations such as the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatopathology.
Dr. Bandino is a triathlon enthusiast and lives in San Antonio with his two sons. He enjoys the outdoors and a good cup of coffee.
Stephanie Kaiser, PA-C
Stephanie is an NCCPA certified physician assistant with a Masters in Physician Assistant Sutdies from Shenandoah University. She has a diverse clinical background with a focus on pediatrics and dermatology. Stephanie is licensed by the State of Texas and is an active member of the Society of Dermatology and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She specializes in adult, teen and pediatric dermatology. She is currently accepting new patients.
